Kintaline 2015 : WE ARE NO LONGER BREEDING OR SELLING BIRDS - please enjoy our information. : Utility Breeds : WELSH HARLEQUIN
Contact Us ~ ~ About Us

welsh harlequin ducksA pretty, medium sized duck, which used to be able to lay a really good number of eggs - around 300 a year for the best birds.
These days there seems to be more good utility lines in the United States than here in the United Kingdom.
We need to have breeders who are committed to recording their birds and selecting their future generations with good productivity in mind. Otherwise the great breeding of the past will be lost forever.
They are quite active foragers but pretty laid back characters.

ORIGIN : Wales
BREEDING : 2 types of Campbell
EGGS: white ~ up to 300 a year
SIZE : medium; drakes- 5-5.5 lbs (2.25-2.5 kg)
ducks - 4.5 - 5lbs (2-2.25 kg)
MEAT: rather light weight
TEMPERAMENT : docile, inquisitive, happy birds
